CHIEF PARKER (no longer ’Deputy Chief’, as apparent from the appellates on his jacket) is seated in a swanky office across from a tall man in a suit, who has blue eyes and a blonde comb-over. This is MAYOR MONTEBANK. The office is dimly lit with expensive looking lamps. MAYOR MONTEBANK walks over to a table with an expensive looking glass decanter and a couple glasses. He pours himself a glass.
MAYOR MONTEBANK
I’m gonna be lenient due to the learning curve
CHIEF PARKER

MAYOR MONTEBANK(SMIRKING)

CHIEF PARKER is confused.
MAYOR MONTEBANK

CHIEF PARKER cautiously nods, unsure of what’s happening. MAYOR MONTEBANK pours the chief a drink as well, walks over and hands it to him, then walks off around the desk. CHIEF PARKER sniffs it and looks impressed. MAYOR MONTEBANK takes a seat at his large leather chair.

CHIEF PARKER sips his drink and makes a face.

CHIEF PARKER reclines and smirks then responds

MAYOR MONTEBANK
One glance… at the people sitting at that table… and this city would upend itself.
CHIEF PARKER

MAYOR MONTEBANK (SMIRKING)

They chuckle. MAYOR MONTEBANK places his glass down.
MAYOR MONTEBANK

CHIEF PARKER

CHIEF PARKER looks discouraged.
MAYOR MONTEBANK
